A man was struck by a car while riding his bicycle to work in Studio City Los Angeles. Cairo Joseph Castaneda was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:50 am after being struck by a privately own trash truck.
No indications of what happened at the scene was given but that he was struck in the middle of the intersection at Radford Avenue and 12000 Ventura Place.
A crowd of bicyclists came to the intersection to memorialize the bicyclists that have been killed on the city streets. A bicycle painted white and chained to a tree was placed to honor the fallen bicyclists.
31 deaths have occurred so far in Southern California this year and they range from old to very young. Many of them occur while riding their bikes to work.
